Every year our club members need to undergo a fitness assessment as part of our Diving Ireland membership and here we are this morning at the beautiful Dunree fort looking to get this done for the 2026 season. Its not too taxing – 400M snorkel in under 10 minutes and a 50M tow of another snorkeler.
Although a bit frosty the sun was out and had a wonderful snorkel off the pier.
The steps leading back up to the Car park is usually the most difficult section , when we are scuba diving here and have 15L Steel cylinders strapped to our backs during the walk back up.
There is no shame in two trips … especially when there is hot coffee and sausage rolls waiting at the cafe.
